Our 12-Step, Detailed Carpet Cleaning Process
Our cleaning process exceeds the standards of the industry. With expert workmanship on each job, we give you the best value for your dollar. This page explains the general approach we use to ensure excellence in our work.
1. Pre-Cleaning Inspection / Estimate
First, we perform a pre-cleaning inspection to note any existing problems and or damage in order to better inform you of your options.
The purpose of the cleaning estimate is to determine not only your rate but also to identify and inspect any areas of concern. This is also the case for upholstery, tile and pet odor control services. We include a UV inspection whenever odor is a concern along with other tools such as thermal imaging for floods etc.
2. Dry Vacuuming
We include dry vacuuming and use professional grade CLEAN-MAX vacuum cleaners with HEPA Filtration on residential carpets.
3. Pre-Spotting (As Needed)
Using specialized spotting formulas, we dissolve hard to remove substances such as wax, tar or ink, etc.
4. Stain Removal (As needed)
The removal of stains or dye molecules in carpeting requires application of chemicals prior to and sometimes after cleaning process. Each stain is different.
Stain removal is often a challenge. In order to achieve better results, please inform the technician of any information about the source of the stain you might have. This will help us to achieve better results. We do include some stain removal. However, not all types of stains are included.
5. Pre-Treat Carpet
We have a wide range of cleaning agents to choose from depending on both your carpet type as well as the particular soil conditions encountered. We primarily use the “two-step” process that utilizes the ph scale to provide a neutralized final result. We also offer oxygen cleaning emulsifiers that can be used in sensitive situations where soiling is minimal.
6. Agitate Solution (Rake Carpet or scrub with the Rotovac)
When necessary, we utilize the element of agitation by scrub heavily soiled areas. This element helps the pre-spray to break up and suspend soil. We can also use a rotary extraction tool called the Rotovac that can help release ground-in soils.
7. Dwell Time – 15 Minutes
Allowing the conditioner to dwell for up to 15 minutes before hot water extraction.
8. Extract and Rinse
Our rinsing agents are pared to properly neutralizing the carpet. During the extraction process we use high temperatures of up to 200 degrees and take the time to thoroughly recover as much water as possible.
9. Rake to Separate Fibers
This raises the pile to evenly dry the carpet.
10. Groom Carpet
Grooming the Carpet at the end removes any loose fiber and fluffs the pile.
11. Apply Stain Protection (Optional)
DuPont Teflon Stain Guard
12. Rake and Groom in Stain Guard
Carpet should take 3-4 hours for it to dry. Other factors such as heat, airflow or humidity can affect drying times.
